Juventus Clinch Coppa Italia Victory

First Trophy under Andrea Pirlo

Juventus clinched their first trophy of the season after beating Inter Milan 4-2 in extra time of the Coppa Italia final on Wednesday night at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome.

Chiesa's Winning Goal

Federico Chiesa was the match-winner for Juventus, scoring the winning goal in the 117th minute of extra time. The Italian winger picked up the ball on the left side of the area and drove into the Inter Milan penalty area, before firing a low shot into the bottom corner of the net.

Thrilling Encounter

The match was a thrilling encounter from start to finish, with both teams creating several chances to score. Inter Milan took the lead in the 7th minute through Lautaro Martinez, but Juventus equalized just five minutes later through Dejan Kulusevski.

Juventus then took the lead in the 52nd minute through Adrien Rabiot, but Inter Milan equalized again in the 80th minute through Ivan Perisic. The match went into extra time, and it was Juventus who eventually emerged victorious thanks to Chiesa's winning goal.

First Trophy under Pirlo

The Coppa Italia triumph is the first trophy that Juventus have won under manager Andrea Pirlo. The Italian legend was appointed as Juventus manager in August 2020, and has now led the club to their first silverware of the season.

The Coppa Italia victory will be a boost to Juventus' confidence ahead of the remainder of the season. The Bianconeri are still in contention for the Serie A title, and they will also face Lazio in the Coppa Italia semi-finals.
