Perez returns to Giants after missing 10 games

The Giants activated infielder Wenceel Perez from the injured list on Sunday. Perez had been out since Aug. 13 with a left oblique strain.

To make room for Perez on the roster, the Giants optioned infielder Jason Vosler to Triple-A Sacramento.

Perez is batting .265/.313/.440 with four home runs and 15 RBIs in 73 games this season.

The Giants are hoping that Perez can provide a boost to their offense down the stretch. The team is currently 6.5 games behind the Dodgers in the NL West and needs to make up ground in the wild-card race.

Perez is expected to start at third base on Sunday against the Diamondbacks.

Perez's return is a boost for the Giants

Perez is a versatile infielder who can play all four positions. He is also a good hitter with a solid on-base percentage. His return gives the Giants some much-needed depth and flexibility.

The Giants have been struggling offensively lately, so Perez's return could be a big boost. He is a good contact hitter who can get on base and put the ball in play.

The Giants are hoping that Perez can help them turn things around and make a push for the playoffs.
