Broadway welcomes back Once Upon a Mattress

The funniest musical of all bedtime is returning to Broadway. Once Upon a Mattress, the iconic musical comedy, is back on Broadway for the first time since 1996.

Tony Award-winner Sutton Foster and actor Michael Urie are joining forces in the new Broadway show Once Upon a Mattress, which will open on March 24, 2023.

The Broadway revival of Once Upon a Mattress will star Foster as Princess Winnifred and Urie as Prince Dauntless. The musical will be directed by Tony Award-winner Casey Nicholaw and choreographed by Tony Award-winner Sergio Trujillo.

Once Upon a Mattress is a musical comedy based on the 1959 children's book of the same name by Mary Rodgers and Marshall Barer. The musical tells the story of Princess Winnifred, who is sent to a kingdom to find a prince to marry, but she must first pass a series of tests set by the queen.
