Game 2 Recap: Nowitzki Leads Mavericks to Victory

Dirk Nowitzki had 26 points and 16 rebounds as the Dallas Mavericks outplayed the Miami Heat 99-85 in Game 2 of the NBA Finals to take a 2-0 lead in the series.

The Mavericks took control of the game in the third quarter, outscoring the Heat 32-18 to take a 12-point lead. Nowitzki scored 12 points in the quarter, including a pair of three-pointers.

The Heat were led by Dwyane Wade's 23 points, but he was just 9-of-22 from the field. LeBron James added 18 points, but he was also just 8-of-20 from the field.

The Mavericks will now have a chance to take a commanding 3-0 lead in the series when they host Game 3 in Dallas on Tuesday night.
